Bio

Melissa Heikes has been actively involved in ATD-Central Iowa since 2018 as a member of the Education Committee and in May 2022, she took over as the VP of the Education Committee ending her role at the end of 2024. She loved offering members educational events that kept them engaged in current trends as well as providing self-development and professional growth. Melissa has worked in human resources and talent development for over 17 years. Melissa has most recently worked in talent management and development for nearly 10 years deploying and managing leader and team member development programs, creating and facilitating team trainings both virtually and in-person, and onboarding new talent to the organization.

Melissa is a Certified Crucial Learning trainer for Crucial Conversations for Managing Dialogue, Certified in Everything DiSC®, and is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach®. Her top 5 Strengths are Communication, Positivity, Strategic, Developer, and Belief.

She works remote, in Adel, Iowa, where she also lives with her husband, Chris, and two amazing kiddos Calvin and Alivia. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling when she is not working or driving kids to activities.
