Topic: The 6 Critical Questions for Creating Organizational Clarity

Time: 9AM to 10 AM

Description:

We'll continue our conversation of The Advantage by Patrick Lencioni with a discussion of Discipline #2. The 2nd Discipline required for organizational health is for the leadership team to be aligned on 6 critical questions:

  1. Why do we exist?
  2. How do we behave?
  3. What do we do?
  4. How will we succeed?
  5. What is most important, right now?
  6. Who must do what?

This is not about simply writing a mission statement full of nice sounding buzz words. It requires that these questions be considered thoroughly, answered, and agreed upon by everyone in leadership in order to create organizational clarity.

Consider these questions from your organization's point of view. Can you answer all of them clearly? Which ones are easier to answer with clarity, and which are more difficult? Why?

To better evaluate your organizational clarity, use this checklist. Please bring examples of your organizational clarity challenges to this session so we can workshop them together.

We'll be reviewing pages 73 to 138 in the book. Again, it's not necessary for you to have read it to participate. However, you will gain a deeper understanding of the reasoning and implementation of the discipline if you do.
