Building Trust and Accountability Through Managing Stress
Presented by Barb Ranck
"When it comes to accountability, it’s easier to focus on and measure the performance side of the equation – results and outcomes. The other side of accountability is emotional accountability, meaning how we show up at our behavioral best, including under stress.
This session will explore strategies to identify and measure “inner accountability” – specifically the ways we operate under stress. The Strengths & Stress Dial will be introduced, along with how it works as a meter toward healthy emotional self-regulation. As individuals better understand, their own - and others' - stress behaviors, and actively work toward consistent self-regulation, it can lead to a culture of increased safety, support, trust, accountability. "
Following this session, learners will:
-Recognize the internal, biological impact of stress and how it impacts job performance
-Identify "red" and "blue" stress behaviors, which are the result of cortisol, along with "green" behaviors, which come from dopamine, serotonin, and lowered cortisol
-Apply curiosity to build empathy, trust, and support consistently "green" behaviors
