Description:
Tech Tools for Transfer of Training
L&D professionals can supercharge skill transfer to the job with a dash of planning, a sprinkle of creativity, and a touch of tech magic. While following up on learners' skill application and performance might seem like a hassle, simple, evidence-based strategies can make a world of difference. This session will uncover how designers, instructors, learners, and managers can craft a transfer strategy that not only welcomes new skills but also drives performance to new heights.
Let’s Use a Tech Tool: Knowly
Dan will be sharing how Tech tools can be designed in to learning programs to improve transfer of learning to the job. One great tool for this purpose is Knowly. Dan prepared a learning journey in Knowly to give you a participant-eye-view of the learning experience. So, do this:
- Plan on 10-12 minutes to complete your prep work tasks.
- Go to this link to register: https://app.knowly.com/auth/ts2/participants/welcome/link/37843c2/8ec2fab779df2f17c537f5c429a5558f61848a2a074d4b9e4afdbe9f7266d61e93c40c?hl=en
- Follow the online instructions (You can even do this on your phone!) to register
- Click the link in the email to complete the prep work. (Scan an article, answer a few questions, get ready.)
Dan will share other Knowly learning journeys, the back-end reporting, and other cool features of the tech.
Topics We’ll Explore:
Before and During Training:
- What makes for transfer of skills from a learning experience to the workplace?
- Did we include enough practice for learner confidence and competence? How do we assess this?
- What can a trainer do to enhance action planning?
During and After Training:
- How can we engage managers and other supporters?
- What tech tools already do this for us? Demo of Knowly
- Can surveys help? Quality design for actionable data.
