Unlocking Potential: Experiential Learning for Personal and Professional Growth

Facilitator Bios:

Jessica Joynt brings a total of 10.5 years of experience to UnityPoint Health. During her time with the system, she has held positions within different Markets of the Organization from UnityPoint at Home Operations Department, the Hospital Volunteer Department, and currently serves as a Talent Management and Organizational Development Consultant for UnityPoint Health System Services. Her Public Relations background has helped her to educate and train various UnityPoint Health team members across the system on a variety of opportunities, including Orientation, Leader-level development offerings, VitalSmarts: Conversations for Mastering Dialogue, and Employee Engagement Leader trainings. Jessica has focused on building a foundation for team members and leaders across the system around development, operations, and strategy. 

Jessica earned a Bachelor’s in Communication, Public Relations from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. She is a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths coach.  In her spare time, she enjoys her five children and two fur babies that keep her plenty busy!

Melissa Heikes started her career in Training and Development over eight years ago and has been in the human resources space for over 18 years. She recently began a new career with F&G as the Manager of Training and Development where she will own the onboarding experience for new team members and leaders, manager development, and the calendar of offerings within the organization. Prior to this role, she worked at UnityPoint Health for eight years. Throughout her time in people development, she has always loved the focus on the whole person which she carries out in the trainings, programs, and relationships she has. She loves all aspects of Organizational Development but has focused her time on program management, leadership and team member development, orientation, and professional coaching. Melissa is certified in VitalSmarts: Conversations for Mastering Dialogue and is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach.

Melissa has her MBA in Human Resources Management and when she isn’t developing people in her career, she is spending time with her family and friends building relationships.
