Topic: Avoiding the dreaded "death by meeting"

Time: 9AM to 10 AM

Description: This first SIG of the new year we're going to address an old problem. Meetings. Why do we all hate them?

Probably because they are usually awful - boring, unfocused, wasteful and frustrating.  But what if there isn't anything inherently wrong with meetings that can't be fixed if we confront the problems of our own making: "meeting stew", unrealistic expectations and poor planning.  We'll explore questions for determining if a meeting is even necessary. And if it is, what type of meeting it should be, and some techniques to keep it on track, productive and meaningful.

The best way to have a fundamental impact on an organization is to change the way it does meetings.

Bring your meeting questions and challenges for discussion.
